Schuyler Chew

Schuyler is Mohawk from Six Nations of the Grand River and grew up at the Tuscarora Nation in New York. He is a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on climate change adaptation planning and implementation for tribes. Since 2013, he has collaborated with Dr.Karletta Chief and others to understand vulnerability and resilience of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe’s water resources under climate change and propose adaptation strategies for the tribe to consider. Schuyler received his BA in engineering sciences from Dartmouth College and an MS in environmental engineering from the University at Buffalo. He previously collaborated on tribal environmental initiatives with the Tuscarora Nation.
